sUNSHINE COAST SANDSTONE FAQ
-
Our stockyard is located in Forest Glen on the Sunshine Coast. We supply sandstone blocks and steps across the region with fast, reliable local delivery.
Please note that our yard is not open to the public for viewings or pickups.
-
No. To maintain a safe and efficient operation, we do not offer pickups or onsite viewings. All sandstone is stored and managed at our Forest Glen yard and delivered directly to your site.
-
We stock a range of sandstone blocks including A Grade in 500’s and 400’s, B Grade Select in 500’s and 400’s, along with diamond cut steps and rough sawn bush sandstone steps.
-
Most of our sandstone blocks weigh around 500 kg each for 500 mm sizes and 300 kg each for 400 mm sizes. Rough sawn steps are approximately 250–300 kg each.
-
No. Sandstone is a natural product, and colour variations are a normal part of its formation. Each block is unique in tone and texture, which adds to the character of the finished project. While we source from trusted quarries to maintain quality, colour shades can vary between deliveries and batches.
-
We deliver sandstone blocks using our own tipper truck or through direct quarry delivery depending on your site access and unloading needs. Our team will confirm the best option when quoting your order.
-
Yes. If there is no machine available onsite, we will deliver using our tipper truck and unload by tipping off the blocks. Please note that tipping off can cause chipping or minor damage, and Sunshine Coast Sandstone does not take responsibility for any damage that occurs during this method.
If you have a machine with a hydraulic rock grab attachment, we recommend using it to unload the blocks, as this provides a safer and more controlled method. If needed, we can also provide a quote for our team to supply a machine and operator to unload for you.
-
We receive deliveries from the quarry every Thursday to keep our stock levels consistent. This ensures you can access sandstone quickly without waiting for quarry production schedules.
-
Ordering directly from the quarry may seem cheaper at first, but it often comes with strict order minimums, long delays, and limited access options. Quarry trucks can refuse delivery if site access is restricted, which can delay your project further.
At Sunshine Coast Sandstone, we make the process simple and reliable. Our sandstone is ready now, our team are local, and our focus is on getting your project moving as quickly as possible.
